General Data Protection Regulation and how it relates to your website
You have more than likely received a lot of emails about the GDPR these past couple weeks.
This is directly related to the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) going into effect on May 25th 2018.
The new regulation expands on consumer privacy protections and outlines the territorial scope of who must comply with the regulation and it affects both European and non-European businesses.
This has to do with how companies need to handle and store their consumer data.
The fine for non-compliance is 4% of annual global turnover or €20 Million (whichever is greater).
You can read more about the new regulations here: https://www.eugdpr.org/
