A WEBSITE REBUILD FOR COMMUNITY HOSPICE: A FISHER AGENCY CASE STUDY
Community Hospice & Palliative Care has spent decades caring for families across Northeast Florida. When they came to Fisher Agency, they needed a website that matched the quality of that care and spoke clearly to very different audiences at once.
Their previous site had grown crowded. Navigation sprawled across too many layers. Content overlapped between the main organization and the Foundation. Mobile and tablet layouts didn’t hold their shape. Families in crisis, healthcare providers, job seekers, volunteers, and donors all arrived with very different questions, and the old site treated them the same way.
Our job was to give each of them a clear path.

THE CHALLENGE
Serving Many Audiences Without Losing the Story
Hospice work sits in a narrow space. The writing has to be warm without drifting into sentiment. The design has to feel calm without feeling cold. Every page has to respect a visitor who may be making one of the hardest decisions of their life.
Community Hospice is also more than a single service. There’s the Foundation, multiple care locations, Community PedsCare for children, grief and loss support, veteran programs, specialized therapies, and a large volunteer network. All of that had to live in one place without overwhelming the person who just needed to request care tonight.
THE FISHER AGENCY APPROACH
We don’t redesign websites for the sake of a new look. We rebuild them around how real people actually use them.
- Audience-First Architecture
We restructured the navigation around the people using the site: patients and caregivers, healthcare providers, job seekers, donors, and volunteers. Each group now has a direct route to what they came for, without wading through content meant for someone else. Careers moved out from behind a drop-down and into a clear link of its own.
- A Unified Services Section
Hospice care. Palliative care. Grief and loss support. Advanced care planning. Community PedsCare. Veterans services. Volunteer opportunities. We pulled these into one consistent Services section so visitors can see the full scope of what Community Hospice offers in one place, instead of chasing it through five different menus.
- Design That Honors the Work
The visual direction is quiet, confident, and human. Photography features real people rather than stock moments. Recognition like Hospice Honors and Great Place to Work sits where it supports the story instead of competing with it. The top navigation stays sticky, so Request Care and Find a Location are always one tap away, no matter how far down the page a visitor scrolls.
- Built for Every Screen
We rebuilt the site on a modern WordPress framework that the Community Hospice team can manage on their own. Mobile and tablet layouts are now properly justified across devices. Load times are faster. Accessibility standards are met. The Foundation link opens cleanly in a new window so donor traffic never loses its place.

THE IMPACT
A Clearer Path for Every Visitor
The new site gives Community Hospice a digital presence that reflects the quality of its care and the range of its mission.
Key Outcomes:
- Streamlined navigation that serves five distinct audiences from a single homepage
- Cleaner mobile and tablet experiences with proper justification across every screen size
- Content the internal team can manage without calling a developer for every update
- Direct pathways to Request Care, Find a Location, Join the Team, and support the Foundation
- A consistent voice across the main site, the Foundation, and every supporting page
